Xiaomi launches new tablet with 12.4-inch screen, Snapdragon chipset and Windows 11

Xiaomi announced this Tuesday (21), a new model of tablet with intermediate specifications, focused on Windows 11 operating system and attracting users who are looking for a laptop with a larger screen and features. There are those that are also present in smartphones, but with the smartphone experience. Use like desktop.

Although not the brand’s first device in this market segment, Asian companies generally do not invest much in their tablet line, however, in recent years new options have emerged in both the mainstream and its subsidiaries. Named the “Book S 12.4”, the most recent release has a premium design with thin edges and a 12.4-inch IPS LCD screen – a size that validates the number in the name – with a 16: 9 aspect ratio, 2560 By 1600 pixels resolution and brightness. 500 nits max, plus 100% sRGB color spectrum support for a better image editing experience.

As Xiaomi points out, prioritizing production capacity, the device brings local support for smart pens, a smart pen with Bluetooth connectivity sold separately and ensuring “natural drawing, illustration and writing practice”. Has a pressure level of over 4,096.

As far as internal hardware is concerned, the 2-in-1 tablet is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 platform – octa core up to 2.84 GHz – with Adreno 680 video card, 8 GB RAM for background and internal process. Storage in UFS 3.1 standard with 256 GB capacity.

Other highlights include a 5MP selfie camera (and 1080p video recording), a 13MP rear sensor and dual stereo speakers. As expected, the software running on this model is Windows 11; The brand did not provide further details on the specs.

Price and availability

Launched in Europe with Xiaomi Book S 12.4. Recommended price of 699 euros, approximately R $ 3,810 in direct exchange. There are currently no release predictions in Brazil – and if there are, the device will arrive in the country via DL.
